Summary From GoodReads

Defense attorney Mickey Haller is back, taking the long shot cases, where the chances of winning are one in a million. After getting a wrongfully convicted man out of prison, he is inundated with pleas from incarcerated people claiming innocence. He enlists his half brother, retired LAPD Detective Harry Bosch, to weed through the letters, knowing most claims will be false.

My Thoughts

The Lincoln Lawyer series is one of my all-time favorites, so I’m thrilled about the TV show on Netflix. I binged watch season 3 in day. I did tried to spread it out over two days but it was difficult. In Resurrection Walk, again, we see Mickey Haller being tenacious, strategic, and incredibly smart lawyer readers know him to be. Reading the, The Lincoln Lawyer is always a good time.

What I enjoyed

  • The plot: Every book in the series has a strong plot, and this one is no exception. After successfully overturning another client’s conviction, Mickey takes on the case of Lucinda Sanz, who is convicted of murdering her husband, a sheriff. The story is filled with twists and turns, especially during the final courtroom scene, which genuinely surprised me.
  • The characters: I really love all the characters in *The Lincoln Lawyer* series. Aside from Mickey, Cisco and Lorna are my favorites. Cisco, with his connections to a biker gang, brings street smarts to the team. Lorna, despite being Mickey’s ex-wife, works closely with him and keeps him organized. Mickey himself is brilliant, always outsmarting the prosecution. I also enjoy seeing other characters from Connelly’s books, like Harry Bosch and Renée Ballard, make appearances in this latest installment.

Not So Favorite

  • Harry Bosch: I do worry about Harry appearing so often in the series. While I know that Mickey and Harry are half-brothers and their careers overlap, I’m concerned that Harry might overshadow Mickey at times. It feels like the *Lincoln Lawyer* series could easily get absorbed into Harry Bosch’s world. In *Resurrection Walk*, there was a decent balance, but some scenes gave Harry more focus than I would have preferred.
  • Always winning: I think it’s inevitable that Mickey will eventually lose a case, and I’d be interested to see how he handles that situation. Right now, he’s dealing with a lot of personal setbacks involving his first wife, daughter, and addiction issues. While he’s faced some career challenges, a significant loss in the courtroom would really test his character.

I always enjoy every new installment of The Lincoln Lawyer. It’s one of my go-to series, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves procedurals, courtroom dramas, and mysteries.

Start watching The Lincoln Lawyer series on Netflix—it’s a great adaptation of the books.
