The week of the culinary conference was Xander Northcott’s time to shine. Fresh out of a long-term relationship, he cemented his newly single status by accepting Piper Andrews’s invitation back to her room that first night. It was all fun and games until a few months later, when he received a phone call from the woman he barely knew.
When Xander and Angel’s roads converge, can they call on each other to help find their way back?
Again, another happy random book that I came across on Prime Reads while on vacation earlier this month. This was my first time reading Bailey West’s work and I enjoyed the experience. Loving MAN was a warm and sweet read with the perfect amount of steam and a little church tossed in.
Xander was a dream and Angel was…well, an angel. There was definitely a meet-cute on the plane. Newborn Maximus was being fussy and Angel offered to help soothe him. Xander, a new and single father, welcomes her help. Angel works her magic on Maximus and calms him down for the remainder of the trip. When they land, they part ways only to meet again when Angel shows up to interview for the nanny position.
I really loved that there was more than meets the eye to Angel. Meeting Xander and becoming the caregiver to his child was perfectly setting the stage to what was to come in the story. She and Xander built a genuine friendship and inspired each other to pursue dreams they had pushed into the background of their lives. They really brought out the best in each.
Loving MAN was a cute, sweet, perfect, and well put together story. There was just enough of everything, drama and comedy. There were times the story became predictable. But, it was still enjoyable.
I hope Bailey West writes a story about Leona and Pastor Israel. There is definitely a backstory that was hinted at in the book enough for me to know more.
I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a quick read and happily ever after. Bonus, if you have Amazon Prime you have access to the book in Prime Reads; no Kindle Unlimited needed.
