Scrolling through Twitter and I saw Roxane Gay tweet about Flack on Amazon Prime and that everyone should watch it. I own a firestick and of course the promo for Flack was on the home page of the firestick. After getting someone’s impression that I follow and have met at library conference, I was intrigued to try it and Dr. Gay did not lead me astray. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. As a warning, I will say the show is irreverent, salacious, and delicious at the same time. Here is my review of the TV in GIFs form because that is the best illustration for this TV show.
The GIFs are how I felt in the beginning of the episode to how I felt at the end.
Before we get started, I didn’t even realize the main character Robyn is play by Anna Paquin, it wasn’t until looking up the cast list. She does an excellent job. As the viewer you really see Robyn not the actor. Anna Paquin beomes Robyn and she played the hell out of this role.
I truly enjoyed this show. I do love these type of shows of showcasing powerful women at their jobs. The tv show has a lot of cringe-worthy moments but it was impeccable and realistic. I hope PR isn’t really like that but you never know. I can’t wait for when season 2 is available in the US.
