For Black History month and beyond, I was trying to think of a way to celebrate the importance of Black representation in literature. I thought a reading bingo would be a great engaging way to do this.
Book bingo is a fun way to discover new reads in the new year. I love bingo and we would have spirit week when I went to elementary school. The week would end in us playing bingo. I thought bingo would be a great way to introduce the 2021 Different Shades of Black Reading Bingo Challenge.
This book bingo for adults will challenge you to read outside your comfort zone and find your next favorite book!
I created this custom Book Bingo for adults who want to have a little more fun with their reading. Also celebrate the diversity within the Black Community. In 2020, I kept hearing the phrase, Black people are not a monolith, and I’m like yeah we are not. Black people are so much more than what society ascribes to us. This is my first time creating such a thing and I hope this bingo card illustrates all the things Black people are and can be. We are not 1 dimensional archetypes.
This a simple book bingo challenge that will encourage you to find new titles you may not have considered before. And since NOTHING is quite as satisfying as being able to physically check off a to-do, I created this as a FREE printable for you.
You can grab your FREE Book Bingo card below.
Once you finish a square, I’d LOVE to hear the book you chose. Share it in on Twitter or on Instagram with the hashtag: #OMGDifShdBlk
If you need help with book recommendations. You can find them here.
Book titles may be used only once per card.
